Earthquake Update
The Special Needs Library is closed pending a Council building inspection.
Though we can see no major structural issues with the building we felt it prudent to close until a professional opinion has confirmed this.
As soon as we have more information regarding re-opening we will update this page and the message on our answering machine (03 332 0733).
In the meantime we thank you for your patience, and our thoughts are with everyone who has been affected.

Welcome to the Special Needs Library, a lending resource library, with over 3,000 educational toys and therapeutic equipment available for hire to those with special needs in our community.
Needs may be intellectual, physical, sensory, emotional, behavioural or social.
Our goal is to provide good quality, educational and therapeutic toys and equipment to enrich learning experiences and promote development.
We welcome children and adults with special needs or anyone supporting them to join the Special Needs Library.
Volunteers
We rely on our team of dedicated volunteers, whose work provides the backbone of our organisation and without whom the library could not function
If you are interested in becoming a volunteer, please contact the library. Even if you can only spare a couple of hours a month it would help our cause, all we ask is a little commitment
